Dale Parker, Secretary, Mackenzie Search and Rescue will be presenting to Mayor and Council on the need for a 40-foot by 80-foot fabric enclosure for protection of the Mackenzie Search and Rescue assets as well as the 2 structural protection trailers from the Mackenzie Fire Department.

  • THAT the Correspondence listed on the Agenda be received.

A letter from Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) President Councillor Cori Ramsay, regarding the second Community Works Fund (CWF) payment for fiscal 2025/2026. 

On Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 8:00 am the Truck Loggers' Association will hold their Annual General Meeting. 

The 2026 Outdoor Recreation Council of BC Conference will take place in Kamloops BC, at Thompson Rivers University on May 20 - 22, 2026. Registration will open in mid-January.

The Long Covid Foundation is asking communities to shine a light on International Long Covid Awareness Day, March 15, 2026.

  • THAT Council adopts the Mayor and Council Travel Policy starting in 2026 as outlined in this report.

  • THAT the Local Government Leadership Academy (LGLA) is not taken from Mayor and Council's discretionary budget.

  • Amendment:

    THAT the main motion (34074) be amended by specifying LGLA will be mandatory for all new Councillors following an election and available to all new Councillors for a year, following a by-election.

  • THAT Council submits the resolution described in this report to the NCLGA for their 2026 AGM.

  • Amendment:

    THAT the main motion (34076) be amended by specifying data centres are classified as class 5, light industry. 

  • THAT Council approves the amendments to the Joint Use Agreement with School District No. 57;

    AND THAT Council authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute the agreement and any other related documentation.

  • THAT Council approves the submission from Northern Electric for the 2026 – 2027 Electrical Services Contract;

    AND THAT the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to execute the contract and any related documentation.

  • THAT Council appoints Gina Johnson, Ivan Suski, and Karen Tinsley to the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee for a two-year term ending December 31, 2027;

    AND THAT Council appoints Elizabeth Blackburn to the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee for a one-year term ending December 31, 2026.

  • THAT Council supports the District of Mackenzie’s application to Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) under the Labour Market Research Plans (LMR) program for up to $50,000 to undertake a Workforce, Business Landscape & Service Gap Assessment.
