We would like to begin by acknowledging the land on which we gather is within the traditional territory of the Tse'khene People of the McLeod Lake Indian Band. 

  • THAT the Special Closed meeting be deferred until after the regular meeting;

    AND THAT the basis of the Special Closed Meeting relates to Section 90 (1)(k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.

  • THAT the Agenda be adopted as presented.

  • THAT the Correspondence listed on the Agenda be received.

The Regional District is applying for a grant through the Union of BC Municipalities Disaster Risk Reduction - Climate Adaptation program and is requesting support from the District of Mackenzie. The letter states resolutions of support are required by February 13th, but UBCM has indicated they will accept resolutions past this date. 

  • THAT the District of Mackenzie supports the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George applying for, receiving, and managing grant funding on our behalf through the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Disaster Risk Reduction – Climate Adaptation program.

Letter received from the Northern Development Initiative Trust announcing the District's application to the 2023 Local Government Internship program has been approved up to $50,000.
