We would like to begin by acknowledging the land on which we gather is within the traditional territory of the Tse'khene People of the McLeod Lake Indian Band.

Seanna Mcdonald, Sunrise Expansion Program, Temporary Workforce Liaison, is requesting Mayor and Council's support for the construction of temporary workforce accommodations at 5051 Coquawaldy Road for Westcoast Employees and contractors during the expansion of the southern Portion of the BC Pipeline system.

Tania Solonas, Land Stewardship Director, McLeod Lake Indian Band, will be hosting a McLeod Lake Indian Band Tse'Khene Culture Camp at Cut Thumb Bay on August 4th and August 5th 2025 and is requesting lifeguards for both days, to be donated by the District of Mackenzie. 
The District of Mackenzie provided lifeguards for this event in 2024. 

  • THAT the District of Mackenzie provide lifeguards for the Tse'Khene Culture Camp at Cut Thumb Bay on August 4th and 5th, 2025. 

The Mackenzie Autumn Lodge Society is requesting the waive or reduction of Municipal Campground fees for the Contractor hired for renovations at the new Senior Centre. The Society is also requesting the removal of the lower kitchen cupboard at the Ernie Bodin Community Centre for use. 

  • THAT the District of Mackenzie waive or reduce the Municipal Campground fees for their hired contractor, Tabor Electrical.

The Williston Lake Elder Society is requesting a Resolution of Support for their application to the Northern Development Initiative trust for the Northern Healthy Communities Fund - Capital Stream.

  • THAT the District of Mackenzie supports the application to Northern Development Initiative Trust from the Willison Lake Elder Society for the Northern Healthy Communities Fund - Capital Stream for the Mackenzie Senior Housing project.

A letter from Mayor Joan Atkinson to Minister Osborne, advocating on behalf of the BC Nurse's Union (BCNU) regarding the Provincial Rural Retention Incentive Program as a permanent staffing tool. 

A letter from Mayor Joan Atkinson, to Minister Davidson, regarding the bridge replacement project at Whiskers Point Provincial Park timeline. 

The McLeod Lake Indian Band 25th Annual General Assembly, taking place August 6th - 9th, 2025 on McLeod Lake Traditional Territory & Heritage Site. 


In years past, the District of Mackenzie has chosen a Silver Class Sponsorship at $2000 for this event. In 2023, a donation in kind of the sound system and portable stage was made.

The City of Campbell River Council, is reaching out to share an important initiative that they believe will benefit all resource-dependent communities across British Columbia. As communities that contribute significantly to the province’s economy, we often face unique challenges that are not always reflected in provincial or federal policy decisions. The City of Campbell River has already taken steps by submitting a resolution to UBCM and applying to host a session at the 2025 Convention. They hope your community will consider joining them in this effort.

A letter from Mayor Martin Johansen on behalf of the Town of Oliver requesting favorable consideration and resolutions of support for the proposed UBCM Resolution for the Province to work with Crown Grant Airport owners to update the list of Ancillary Uses in the Land Use Operational Policy at the upcoming UBCM Convention this fall

At their meeting held May 26, 2025, the District of Coldstream Council passed a resolution that UBCM request the Province of British Columbia to undertake a comprehensive review and modernization of the Municipal Wastewater Regulation and Sewerage System Regulation to ensure alignment with current environmental pressures, technological advancements, and land use planning needs. The District of Coldstream is requesting support for their resolution.

Sherri Maycock, Recreation Programmer, District of Taylor, invites residents to the 53rd Annual World Invitational Class "A" Gold Panning Championships on August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 2025, at Peace Island Park, Rocky Mountain Forts, in Taylor BC. 

This free workshop for seniors and caregivers will focus on how we can combat social isolation and the support our community offers to help us age healthily in our rural area. The session will conclude with a Q&A, and lunch will be provided.

  • Coastal GasLink - Socio - Economic Effects Management Plan (SEEMP) Status Report #2 - 2 
  • THAT Council directs staff to prepare amendments to the Development Procedures Bylaw and Delegation of Authority Bylaw to enable the Director of Corporate Services to issue minor development variance permits, based on the criteria and approach outlined in this report.

  • THAT Council awards the 2025 Asphalt and Concrete Works project to Road King in an amount up to $1,000,000 including GST; this budget also includes Engineering.

    AND THAT the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to execute the contract and any related documentation.

  • THAT Council provides feedback on draft meeting topics for the UBCM Minister Meeting Requests due July 2, 2025.

  • THAT Council direct staff on whether or not to sell District-Owned Land adjacent to residential properties.

  • THAT Council approves the amendments to License-to-Use Policy 1.19 as outlined in this report.
