Representatives from Enbridge's Community and Indigenous Engagement team will be in attendance to present an
update to Council on Enbridge's BC operations and an introduction of the Sunrise Expansion Program.

  • THAT the Correspondence listed on the Agenda be received.

THAT council provide support with a letter of endorsement for the Mackenzie Autumn Lodge's grant application to the South Peace Mackenzie Trust. 

Is there anything Council wishes to address in the "For Consideration" or "Centre Table File" correspondence? 

THAT staff respond to Mackenzie Secondary School on behalf of interested members of Council who wish to attend the Capstone Gallery Walk held on May 9, 2024 at the Mackenzie Secondary School Gym, from 9:30 am-2:00 pm. 

Request received from the Fibromyalgia Association Canada to light up the Municipal Office in Purple from dusk of May 12, 2024 to dawn of May 13, 2024 in recognition of Canadians with fibromyalgia. 

Request received from the Regional District of Fraser Fort George to meet with Mayor and Council to discuss the goals of the new Regional Agriculture Strategy, determine potential opportunities for collaboration and meaningful partnerships.

Notification received from Talon Helicopters on plans to perform low-level flyovers for FortisBC between April 26th and June 15th, during daylight hours, as authorized by Transport Canada.

Letter received from resident Jaimie Coulton requesting that Zoning Bylaw 1368 - 4.14 Fences to increase the maximum height of fences in Residential zones to 2.4 metres.

Letter received from the McLeod Lake inviting Mayor and Council to their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday June 28, 2024, and requesting that Council appoint by Council Resolution a Director for the three (3) year term of June 20, 2024 - 2027 and provide confirmation of said appointment by June 18, 2024. 

Letter received from Mike Farnsworth, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General and Deputy Premier, regarding the letter of support written for Bill 34.

Letter received from the NCLGA regarding the extension of the nomination period for two awards: The NCLGA Community Leadership Awards and The NCLGA Lifetime Achievement Awards.

  • THAT Council appoints Amy Coates to the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee for a term ending December 31, 2025.

  • THAT Council amends the License-to-Use Agreement with the Purple Bicycle Naturals Foods for the patio area located on District property to allow the serving of alcohol, pending approval of appropriate Provincial permitting.

  • THAT Council approves the applications from Mackenzie Community Arts Centre, Mackenzie Chamber of Commerce, and Legion Branch #273 to the Business Façade Improvement Program to a maximum amount of $13,375.38.

  • THAT Council approves the recommendations of the Grant Adjudication Committee for the first intake of the 2024 Community Grants Program as outlined in this report.

  • THAT Council approves Councillor Wright’s liaison appointment to the Williston Lake Elders Society.

  • THAT Council receives this report for information.

  • THAT Council approves the Licence-of-Occupation for the Mackenzie Community Garden Society;

    AND THAT Council determine whether the new license will include the expanded area as requested by the Mackenzie Community Garden Society;

  • THAT Council awards the purchase of a 2024 Wildland truck to Commercial Emergency Equipment Co. for a price of $244,987.20 plus GST;

    AND THAT Council authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute the contract and any other related documentation.

THAT Council give this bylaw the first three readings.

Presentation on what to do in an emergency held by the District of Mackenzie Fire Department and Mackenzie Community Services. First 50 people get stocked go-bags with essential items included. Coffee and Snacks will be provided.

Presentation from Kale Ericson, Health & Safety Manager of Conuma Resources Ltd. on types of wildlife in the Mackenzie area, warning signs, encounters, how to use bear spray & more. Adults & Children 12+ are welcome. No registration or fee required. Sessions are 1-2 hours long.
