CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:20 PM.

Mayor Atkinson acknowledged the land on which we gather is within the traditional territory of the Tse’khene People of the McLeod Lake Indian Band.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting held on November 12, 2024 were adopted as presented.

Shannon Bezo, Resident commented on item 7.1.1 saying the responses from UBCM were lackluster.
Mayor Atkinson explained that due to the timing of the UBCM meetings and Provincial Election these responses were expected. "Adrian Dix for example, is no longer the Minster of Health, now he is the Minister of Climate and Energy Solutions"

Janice Nelson, Macktown Buzzette, asked about the"$900,000 extra for paving" and what it pertained to. 
Chief Financial Officer, Kerri Borne, responded that $600,000 was for paving projects in 2023 that had to be completed in 2024" 
Janice asked why it was not already in the budget and Mrs. Borne explained the District did not have its paving plan completed before the bylaw was adopted. 

In 2020, Council adopted the Community Grants Policy 3.16 which requires all organizations approved for Fee-For-Service Agreements to provide an in-person presentation to Council at the end of each year highlighting accomplishments, goals and objectives, benefits provided to the community, and a financial statement outlining how the District’s funding was utilized.

    THAT Council awards the contract for the purchase of the Structure Protection Unit Trailer to Kitt Equipment Ltd. for a total of $29,105.11 plus GST;

    AND that the Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to execute the purchase and any documentation related.

  • THAT Council directs staff to submit a grant application to the South Peace Mackenzie Trust with the intention of hiring a second Economic Development Worker for the municipality to work in the Corporate Service Department.

Mayor Atkinson explained the motion will be brought forward to the following Regular meeting, allowing Council members time to prepare before voting on the proposed motion.
